CampusBird is fortunate to work with some of America’s best-looking college campuses, and at no time of year is that more apparent than autumn. The fall is also when admission season officially kicks off, and it's a perfect time to highlight the fun of student life through events like homecoming, as well as the beauty of your campus in the fall.
As the leaves change color on campuses around the country, we’d like to take a moment and highlight a collection of schools where students, staff, and faculty are soaked in incredible scenery.
Augustana College
A vast majority of the 2,500 students at this small Liberal Arts and Sciences school live on campus, enjoying a gorgeously settled 115 wooded acres along the Mississippi River in Rock Island, Illinois. With such stunning scenery, it isn’t surprising. In fact, there's a blog post on the Augustana website, Top 10 Augustana Fall Scenes.
Smith College
Smith College sits in a lush valley in North Hampton, Massachusetts. Featuring lakes with vast green spaces and gorgeous fauna, the campus is one of the most peaceful found anywhere in the country.
The undergraduate class of 2,500 women primarily live on or near campus, meaning the school’s breathtaking scenery (out this live video of Paradise Pond) greets them each morning as they head out the door to attend class.
Mississippi State University
One of the most unique features of “The People’s University” is the Campus Tree Trail, a walking path showcasing trees native to the southeast United States. Catch a glimpse of the trail here.
As a campus rich in history and culture, MS State’s campus in Starkville houses a collection of museums and galleries as well as an herbarium complete with 32,000 specimens.
Loyola University Chicago
Loyola’s Lake Shore campus is a full palette of colors each autumn, nestled along Chicago’s waterfront. The campus features the Richard J. Klarchek Information Commons, a 72,000 square foot environmentally friendly annex of the school’s Cudahy Library.
This annex is one of multiple Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified buildings on campus, making Loyola not only a gorgeous school but a leader in on-campus sustainability.
Monmouth College
Monmouth is known for more than an award-winning bagpipe band. Founded in 1853 by Scotch-Irish pioneers, the campus is laid with walkways through vast green common areas and canopy. 93% of Monmouth’s 1,200 students live on the campus in Rock Island, Illinois.
In a commitment to the area’s natural beauty, the school provides free bicycle access for students and staff, and an on-campus electric vehicle charging station.
Mansfield University of Pennsylvania
Tioga County, like much of Pennsylvania, is exceptionally lush and green. The trees on the Mansfield University of Pennsylvania campus accentuate the red brick of the buildings as the leaves change colors each fall. Both the Alumni and Elliott Lawns offer ample space for students to relax or study. The stunning Student Mall walkway winds throughout the campus.
Elmhurst College
Elmhurst’s campus in Chicago is defined by tree canopy sitting over wide open lawns and walkways, and the arrival of Autumn lights up the area with near electric color.
The Elmhurst College Arboretum encompasses the entire campus and is home to nearly 800 trees and shrubs, many of which are extremely rare.
Tarleton State University
Just outside the bustling metroplex of Dallas-Fort Worth in Stephenville, Tarleton State University’s campus is dense with the outstanding fall colors of Texas. Ample trees and green spaces give students a place to unwind after class.
With ample space for outdoor athletics, Tarleton is doing its part to foster an appreciation for the area’s natural environment.
From coast to coast, our country is full of beautiful campuses. Many more colleges and universities deserve a mention, and we’ll be back in winter with the next round!
