Wayfinding :: Wheelchair Accessible Routes

The Concept3D platform has offered walking routes, directions, path optimization, or as we call it, Wayfinding, for over 5 years as part of our interactive map. Today, with Texas A&M University, we take a large leap forward with the addition of wheelchair accessible route functionality .

How Concept3D Wayfinding Works

Concept3D's wayfinding uses a weighted algorithm to determine the most efficient route between a start and end point. The most efficient route does not always allow for flexibility in routing variables like stairs, curb cuts, steep inclines, and other areas that may impact accessibility. With our wheelchair accessible route functionality,  a client is able to take these variables into account to deliver a second more accessible option to the end user. Now within Concept3D's interactive map, clients can deliver their end users either the most efficient route or the most wheelchair accessible route.

Continued Commitment

Inclusion, both digitally and on campus, is a commitment of Concept3D's. Our interactive maps and virtual tours digitally represent real places.  We strive toward marrying the digital and actual location to help create a better experience for everyone. We use ARIA tags throughout our platform to create a better experience for screen readers and other navigation needs. Our platform is powered by a robust content management system so settings like background and line color can be altered for color blindness. Learn more about our commitment to accessibility here
