Boulder, CO – concept3D, a leader in web, mobile and geolocation software development, is pleased to announce that Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vt., has upgraded its online campus map using concept3D’s CampusBird digital mapping platform. CampusBird is a powerful and easy-to-use map management system that displays custom media including 3D models, 2D overlay renderings, street-view imagery, and video.
Middlebury College’s new interactive map features a stunning view of the picturesque Vermont campus, with realistic renderings of the buildings and grounds. It includes two dozen 360-degree panoramic views, descriptions and photos of scores of buildings, interior floor plans of the library and arts center, and helps visitors find their way to specific locations on campus. Built on top of Google Maps, the technology allows for zooming and panning and is viewable on any device.
“We recognize it’s not possible for all of the thousands of high school students from every state and from around world who are interested in Middlebury College to visit our campus,” said Bill Burger, Middlebury’s Vice President for Communications and Marketing. “This interactive map is the next best thing to taking a tour. People can zoom in on any building, look at a photo and read a description, and then look at any of the 360-degree images. It’s a new way to experience Middlebury College.”
